Connecting Community Needs with Resources
Non-Profit organizations are vital tools the Tucson community uses to address and solve its social issues. These agencies are uniquely qualified to support varying demographic groups through the provision of programs and
job skills and employment.
Through collaboration, coordination, capacity-building and mobilization of these assets, neighborhoods are able to tap into programs and services that can effectively serve their residents and dramatically improve the social conditions of the community.
As is consistent with this diagram, non-profits are most effective when they are in partnership with infrastructure institutions such as neighborhood leaders and residents, schools, and churches. These organizations should be viewed as support structures that under-gird the main institutions (neighborhood leaders and residents, schools, and churches) who have direct contact with neighborhood constituents.
