Connecting Community Needs with Resources
A community-school initiative is defined as a coordinated effort involving both the community and the school within a neighborhood. This effort would include neighborhood residents (children, youth and adults) and the neighborhood school jointly participating in programming that benefits both constituents. Neighborhood schools would have the opportunity to utilize their facilities to provide empowerment programs to community members during after-school hours and neighborhood residents would have the opportunity to consume those programs.
The following is a list of community-school initiatives within the Tucson area. The reader can identify the ward, neighborhood and school in which the community-school initiative is taking place.
