Connecting Community Needs with Resources
|
Businesses are joint partners with neighborhood leaders and residents, providing opportunities for service learning projects, internships, employment and sponsorship for neighborhood initiatives. Research shows that neighborhoods are more economically developed when their businesses are successful. |
|
However, a business can only be successful when it has customers that purchase its products and/or services. Therefore, to be economically successful, neighborhoods need successful businesses and businesses must have the support of neighborhoods.
While businesses do in-fact play a vital role as sponsors and supporters of neighborhood activities, projects and programs, they should also be thought of as entities in need of support. They too require services to help them 1) decrease costs, 2) increase revenue and profit, and 3) increase their advertising reach. When neighborhood leaders and residents, schools, and churches commit to actively supporting these goals, businesses become more active in supporting and sponsoring neighborhood activities, projects and programs.
In the tabs (links) below, we provide an index of businesses in Tucson neighborhoods and two business clusters in which each business operates.
